April 12, 2023 - 16th Early College Awareness Program with Yonkers Public Schools
For the 16th year, the Harvard-Radcliffe Club of Westchester and alumni volunteers offer this unique program encouraging 9th and 10th graders in resource-constrained Yonkers to go to college
The Program seeks to inspire and motivate students through early college awareness. It features a variety of speakers, including speakers who may have themselves been the first in their families to attend college. The program will be offered this year to 9th and 10th graders at Yonkers Middle High School in a two-period in-school student assembly.
Students will learn:
- what life in college is like and what students can get out of going to college (any college, whether a 2 or 4-year program)
- myths and facts about financial aid
- how they can put their best foot forward in high school to prepare for college
