Here’s much to do with hate, but more with love.

Romeo and Juliet, Act I, Scene 1

largeA night under the stars (Earth-treading stars that make dark heaven light) with those star-crossed lovers, as the Harvard-Radcliffe Club of the Hudson Valley attends the Shakespeare Festival.  They’ve moved their tent, big enough for all of us, from Boscobel to Garrison but (What’s in a name?) their unwaveringly excellent cast, featuring Kurt Rhoads and Nance Williamson, remains to convey the poetry of this tragic romance. The play will be preceded by hors d’oeuvres, wine from the Brimstone Hill vineyard of Dick Eldridge ’59, a sumptuous buffet (salmon, ribs, vegetable lasagna, and more), and a brief HRCHV Club Annual Meeting. We will cap off our pre-show gathering with an analysis of the play by West Point professor Seth Herbst ’08, PhD ’15.

Click here to join the HRCHV on Saturday, July 9 starting at 5 p.m. at the former Garrison Golf Club, at 2019 Route 9, Garrison, NY.

Our group will be seated on the terrace grill, a covered deck just left of the box office, with panoramic riverside prospect and as always new or renewed friendships, for a romantic evening that ends well. (Spread thy close curtain, love-performing night.)

Gentle reader, do not delay! We must return any unpurchased tickets to HVSF by July 2nd, so click here to buy your tickets now.

Tickets are $85 for HRCHV non-members and $75 for HRCHV members and their guests. Members can receive the discounted price on Eventbrite by entering the email address associated with their HRCHV membership in the Discount Code field during checkout.
