Gary Shteyngart and Benjamin Taylor will discuss Gary’s best-selling novel, Our Country Friends, set in Hudson Valley during the pandemic.
The Harvard-Radcliffe Club of the Hudson Valley is delighted to have two distinguished writers speak on Sunday, June 12. Gary Shteyngart and Benjamin Taylor will discuss Gary’s best-selling novel, Our Country Friends, set in the Hudson Valley during the pandemic. The novel, while paying homage to such past masters as Anton Chekhov, explores themes of friendship, love, and betrayal in our times. We anticipate a wide-ranging literary discussion, with an audience Q&A. Afterwards, light refreshments will be served, and books will be available for purchase and signing — Our Country Friends, and Ben’s acclaimed new memoir, Here We Are: My Friendship with Philip Roth. This event will take place rain or shine, under a tent. Seating is limited, and tickets are being sold on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets cost $20 for Club members and their guests, and $30 for non-members and their guests.
