October 2 - Volunteer at Our New Way Garden
Come enjoy camaraderie at this family-friendly event while gardening in support of community access to healthy produce!
Join us Saturday October 2, 2021 for the Club's first Community Service event of the year with Our New Way Garden at their farm in Purchase, New York located on the grounds of Old Oaks Country Club. Food insecurity is a growing problem in the US and this nonprofit addresses these issues. Its mission is to educate the public about locally and naturally grown food, increase community access to healthy organic produce, support local businesses and provide productive activities and positive sources of income for youth.
The Club will provide refreshments prior to gardening.
According to the event host:
- Possible activities include: Harvesting, Planting, Fertilizing Trees, Weeding.
- Masks will be needed when going indoors for restroom.
- Children of all ages are welcome when accompanied by an adult.
- There is a chance of getting dirty. Closed-toe shoes are recommended.
- Feel free to bring gardening gloves - extra pairs will be available as well.

Please also provide your contact information with telephone number and contact email address to receive confirmation. More specific detail on where to meet at the farm location will also be provided.

Each individual and family should make their own decisions about participation with the understanding that the Club will not be responsible for any COVID or other risks or for the actions of other event participants.
