VIRTUAL - June 24th - The Past, Present & Future of NY's Great Institutions: Dan Weiss, President & CEO, the Metropolitan Museum of ART
As the Met celebrates its 150th Anniversary, how is COVID-19 affecting NY's great institutions?
2020 was supposed to be a blockbuster year for the Metropolitan Museum of Art, which was just starting to celebrate its 150th anniversary as COVID-19 hit.
Even before the pandemic, the museum world and many of the great institutions of New York were balancing the challenges of rapidly increasing complexity, societal change, and on-going challenges of engagement, governance, programming, purpose and ensuring financial stability.
This talk will address these issues facing great institutions and the challenges of adapting to a post-COVID-19 through the lense of the Met:
- What will the Museum experience look like after months of its doors being shuttered?
- How will the Met think about engaging its audience from a programming perspective?
- How will great institutions re-dress their financial positions?
We look forward to hearing from Dan Weiss about the latest work at one of New York’s leading institutions and will have ample time for Q&A.
