VIRTUAL - June 10th - Parenting in the Age of Covid-19 as Summer Approaches: Jessica Grose, Lead Editor, Parenting, The New York Times
How are you preparing for summer (at home?) with your kids in the context of Covid-19?
1) How will the rhythms of summer be different after the school year?
2) How can we get through the months without camp or child care/
3) How do we prepare our children for a successful re-entry when they go back to school?
We are excited to welcome Jessica Grose, who will speak about what we know about the long-term effects of this kind of educational and social disruption on kids, and how parents can stay sane while managing kids at home.
These are just a few among the topics that Grose will speak to as she shares her perspectives as Lead Editor of the New York Times' Parenting work. Additionally, Grose will take extensive Q&A to ensure that your questions are addresed given the different needs of different parents and different children.
Jessica Grose grew up in Irvington (parented by a '70 Radcliffe alum/mom) and graduated from Brown. Prior to her work for the New York Times, Grose wrote for Slate and several other publications; published two books, Sad Desk Salad (2012) and Soulmates (2016); and served as Editor-in-Cheif of Lenny, an email newsletter focusing on feminism, style, politics and more.
