Septemeber 27 - "The Curious World of Seaweed"
Josie Iselin '84 talks at the Jay Heritage Center in Rye.
We well know the fragility, beauty and importance of our own Long Island Sound. Similarly, the habitates of the Pacific Ocean are unique and ecologically important as beautifully explored in Josie Iselin's new volume, "The Curious World of Seaweed."
Join us for a gorgeous visual presentation combining historical illustrations and Iselin's signature Marrimekko-like portraits of each specimen that reveal their vibrant colors.
Iselin is the author of eight books that focus on those forms in nature that we find at hand, in particular , at the beach. As a fine artist she exhibits large-scale prints at galleries and museums and she has designed a line of luxury scarves and shower curtains.
