Downtown Scarsdale*SOLD OUT* - May 22 - Historic Walking Tour of Downtown Scarsdale

Associate Village Historian of Scarsdale, Jordan Copeland, will guide us on a walking tour to learn how downtown Scarsdale transformed from a sleepy train depot to a vibrant, distinctive commercial hub.

 
While we leisurely walk through downtown Scarsdale, you will learn about the early twentieth century development of Scarsdale's downtown with historical photographs, maps, newspaper articles and architecture.  While the focus will be Scarsdale, Jordan will also provide a broader perspective on the history of the surrounding area.
 
The tour will last approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes.  We will take advantage of the closure of the Bronx River Parkway for Bike Sunday, and we will take short breaks during the tour.  The event will take place in the case of light rain, but it will be cancelled with a full refund in case of heavy rain or other unpermitting weather.  Capacity is limited to 20 participants.
 



Jordan Copeland is is the Associate Village Historian of Scarsdale, a musician, and a former public defender and fifth grade teacher in the Bronx. He has given a variety of historical presentations and walking tours, and he has conducted extensive original research into the history and experiences of Black people in our community.

Capacity is limited to 20 participants

$10 per person (discounted rate for members of the Harvard-Radcliffe Club of Westchester and one guest)

$25 per person (non-members and additional guests of HRCW members)

of any weather-related cancellation.
