VOLUNTEER AT THE 13th HARVARD-YONKERS EARLY COLLEGE AWARENESS PROGRAM - April 6th

For the 13th year, Club volunteers offer this unique program encouraging 8th- grade students in resource constrained-Yonkers to attend college.

In this Saturday morning program, students and their families learn:

  • what life in college is like and what they can get out of going to college

  • how to successfully navigate high school in preparation for pursuing a college degree

  • what types of resources are available to finance college, including financial aid

The Program seeks to inspire and motivate students through early college awareness.  It features a variety of speakers, including speakers who may have themselves been the first in their families to attend college.   The morning begins with a light breakfast provided by the Harvard-Radcliffe Club of Westchester, during which time Club members and alumni are able to interact with Yonkers 8th graders and their families.

If you would like to learn more about this program or would like to help, please consider attending the event on April 6 (we would love to see you), or click HERE to make an online donation to help finance the  program.  If you have questions or would like to attend, please contact Club Chair of Community Outreach, Rekha Packer, at rekhapacker@gmail.com or Jeewon Park at jeewonpark123@yahoo.com.
